This basil has an intense smell and taste and even the use of just a few leaves can enrich almost any dish. Especially in Italian and Mediterranean cuisine a lot of basil is used.

Peppermint has a very recognizable and fresh smell and taste, which you probably know from chewing gum and toothpaste. Mint is mainly used in oriental dishes, desserts and cocktails and other dishes in which the fresh taste comes into its own.

Rocket has a spicy, slightly bitter, nutty taste. It is a variety that naturally grows a lot around the Mediterranean Sea and it is also very popular in Mediterranean dishes. Very tasty with pasta dishes with mozzarella and tomato, on bread, or as a salad.

This type of basil is widely used in the kitchens of Indonesia, Laos and Thailand. The leaves look a bit like the common basil, but are more pointed. They are also difficult to distinguish from Thai basil on the eye, but when you smell them or taste them, the difference is clear. This species is not called lemon basil for nothing! It is very tasty as tea, or in Asian dishes.

Thai basil is actually a kind of tropical variant of the common basil. It tastes strongly aniseed and even a little bit minty. This variety is widely used in Asian cuisine in dishes such as Thai curries or spicy stir-fry dishes, but even in cocktails it gives a special taste experience.

Tarragon is often used in French cuisine. It tastes a bit aniseed and goes well with dishes with egg, a bearnaise sauce or a steak. Be careful with the tarragon, because the taste can quickly become strong.

Fresh lettuce is actually not a lettuce variety at all, but an endive. You can taste this too, because it is a bit more bitter than most lettuce varieties. This crispy variety comes into its own in salads with for example olives or sundried tomatoes.

These lettuce heads are nicely compact and contain a lot of leaves. This variety is tender and soft in taste and therefore goes well with many different types of dishes. For example, it is perfect for a healthy salad, as lunch or side dish.

This flower is a  very nice product with which you can brighten up your dish in a simple way. Because this violet is edible and very colorful. Actually, it's a shame to eat it, but it completes your dish.

Chamomile has a soothing effect on your digestion and nervous system. This is why we like to make tea of it. It is mainly cultivated on a large scale in Eastern European countries. But now also in your own indoor garden. It can give off a honey-like scent. Besides making tea you can also use it to make soup.

The leaves of lemon balm are soft, heart-shaped and light green in color. They look like mint but they are much smaller and smell much stronger like lemon. The dishes in which you use it will have a fresh lemony taste. Lemon balm can be used for tea. You can also use them in cold drinks also, so it's only fair with a glass of sparkling water.

It is a plant that is used in many different ways. Thyme has a powerful smell and taste, from its leaves you can make tea or syrup. You can also use it as a seasoning in dishes such as vegetables, fish, meat and sauces. The longer you leave thyme in your dish, the more flavors and scents will be released.

It is a minty herb, whose leaves taste like anise. But if you smell the leaves the smell really smells like licorice. It is not made into licorice candy! However, it is a good alternative to sugar. You can make tea from it and it softens your throat.  If you dry the leaves it loses its taste, so you better use it fresh.
