Floriade 2022: admire our PlantHome Pro as a green solution in the city kitchen

Finally! Spring is in full swing and now that the corona measures have almost disappeared, a lot of people are going out again. For the first time in two years, bigger events are also possible again and this year the 7th edition of the Floriade will take place in the Netherlands.

The Floriade is a world horticultural exhibition that takes place only once every 10 years. This year the Floriade will take place in Almere from 14 April to 9 October. The Floriade offers a stage to all big names in the horticultural world to present their solutions for making our cities greener. This year’s theme is 'Growing Green Cities', where everything revolves around solutions that are needed to make cities greener, healthier and more fun. This is a theme that is extremely important today, because by 2050 no less than 68% of the world’s population will live in cities. Within this theme, there are four sub-themes at the Floriade, namely Greening the City, Feeding the City, Healthying the City and Energizing the City. Especially the themes Feeding the City and Healthying the City fit perfectly with what we stand for as Own Greens, and we are therefore very excited to announce that we can be part of this great event this year!

During the entire Floriade you can admire our own PlantHome Pro in the cooking studio of the ‘Belevingskas’.  The Belevingskas is part of the large greenhouse complex The Green House, where visitors can be surprised by knowledge, ideas and activities. There will also be a show area in the Belevingskas where visitors can enjoy tastings, among other things. An important goal of The Green House is therefore to introduce visitors to beautiful and healthy products from Dutch horticulture.

Our PlantHome Pro is an indoor vegetable garden with three floors in which up to 30 small herb plants or 6 heads of lettuce can be grown per floor. Each floor is also equipped with an LED lamp, so that the plants always have enough light to grow. The plants in the PlantHome Pro are grown on water and no pesticides or other harmful substances are used. The PlantHome Pro is therefore the perfect solution for people who do not have space for a vegetable garden, but still want to grow their own fresh vegetables and herbs in a healthy and easy way. The PlantHome Pro fits perfectly within the theme of 'Growing Green Cities' of the Floriade and we are very excited to introduce our concept to visitors. Will we see you there?
