Enthusiastic Own Greeners: the experiences of Frank and Renée

Frank and Renée are both retired, they are interested in gardening and own a lot of plants, both indoors and outdoors. Their friends in Zeeland introduced    them to the PlantHome. After tasting a delicious basil pesto with basil from the PlantHome,      they knew they needed one as well! The PlantHome has been given an important spot in Frank and Renée’s kitchen: between the tea and their Nespresso machine. They like how the PlantHome looks in their kitchen, especially because they like a touch of wood in their interior. They also don’t mind the built-in LED-light, they even think the soft light is kind of cosy during the evening.

                    
Frank and Renée have been using the PlantHome for about six weeks now and are very satisfied with its use. They’re also very enthusiastic about the  installation and usability of the PlantHome: “The PlantHome is easy to install. The pads and cups are super easy to use.” The biggest advantage of using the PlantHome, according to Frank and Renée, is the freshness of the herbs. They also like the taste and smell of Own Greens herbs better than those of herbs from the supermarket. When we asked whether they still buy herbs in the supermarket, we got the following answer: “We only buy herbs that are not yet available as a pad or cup, like parsley. Fortunately, there is chervil! Chervil is almost impossible to get in the store.”

Despite the fact that they own a lot of plants, Frank and Renée didn’t have any experience with vegetable gardening before they started using the PlantHome. “We tried tomatoes once, but that was not a success”, said the couple. Despite their limited experience, they have not encountered any problems with the PlantHome so far, they find it doable to keep track of four different plants per cultivation cycle. To our great pleasure, Frank and Renée indicated that they plan to use the PlantHome every season and they even had suggestions for new varieties: they would like to grow lamb's lettuce and microgreens.
